Let's Begin the Impression-Taking Process
-
Prep
Wash your hands and brush your teeth. Set a timer on your phone to track each step accurately. Lay out all items from the kit on a clean, flat surface.
-
Step 1:
Mix and Shape the Putty
- Mix: Put on the gloves and mix the base and catalyst putty for 30 seconds until the color is even (no streaks).
- Roll: Shape the putty into a ball, then roll it into a 4-inch long sausage within 5 seconds.
- Place: Spread the putty evenly in the tray within 5-10 seconds, making sure it covers the entire arch of your teeth. Avoid pressing too hard.
-
Step 2:
Take Your Teeth Impressions
- Position the Tray: Gently insert the tray into your mouth with the handle aligned directly beneath your nose.
- Bite Carefully: Close your mouth slowly, ensuring your teeth sink into the center of the putty without touching the tray’s inner or outer edges.
- Hold Steady: Keep the tray in place for 3 full minutes, maintaining gentle pressure without shifting.
- Remove Cleanly: Once the time is up, remove the tray in one smooth motion, downward for the upper arch, upward for the lower.
Note: Do not remove the putty from the tray. -
Step 3:
Submit for Approval
- Take clear photos of your first impression and upload them to the Aligner Tracker App.
- Wait for feedback from our experts before moving on to your remaining impressions.
-
Step 4:
Take All Your Impressions
- Repeat the exact process for your other arch using a fresh set of putty.
- Even if you’re only getting aligners for one arch, impressions of both upper and lower teeth are required.
-
Step 5:
Snap Photos of Your Teeth
Insert the cheek retractor in your mouth and take pictures from 5 different angles. Now log in to the Aligner Tracker App and upload the images.- Front View

Avoid These Common Mistakes

- Removing the Tray Too Early: This might result in incomplete impressions.
- Not Mixing Properly: Improperly mixed putty leads to streaky impressions.
